As part of our recognition of March being National Nutrition Month, the A’viands Nutrition & Wellness Department will be offering a “Tip of the Day” as much as possible during the month. The tip is meant to inspire you to try new foods, incorporate healthier foods into your diet and increase your awareness of your overall health.

March 13, 2013 – Tip of the Day

Fruits and vegetables are rich in vitamins and minerals that help you feel healthy and energized. Purple or blue fruits and vegetables such as blueberries or eggplant contain powerful nutrients that my help your memory or learning new things. Red fruits or vegetables such as watermelon, cranberries, beets and tomatoes can help protect your heart and prevent some cancers.
