As part of our recognition of March being National Nutrition Month, the A’viands Nutrition & Wellness Department will be offering a “Tip of the Day” as much as possible during the month. The tip is meant to inspire you to try new foods, incorporate healthier foods into your diet and increase your awareness of your overall health.

Broccolini is sweeter than broccoli and is an excellent source of vitamin C. Vitamin C is water soluble vitamin that is necessary for proper growth and repair of tissues; required to make collagen which is found in your skin, tendons, ligaments and blood vessels; and is an antioxidant. Other excellent sources of Vitamin C are: green peppers, papaya, strawberries, kiwi, mangos, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, oranges and tomatoes.
Look for broccolini the next time you visit the grocery store.
